Four western Alabama counties are under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. Those counties are Greene, Hale, Perry and Sumter.
"If you live in the tornado watch zone be sure to keep a close eye on the
weather this afternoon. If a warning is issued, we will break into
programming to bring you the latest," FOX6 Meteorologist Wes Wyatt posted on the weather blog around 1:30 p.m.
"For the rest of the area, you can
expect a cloudy sky and scattered tropical showers through the evening
hours. This activity will be moving from south to north across the area," Wyatt says.
The tornado watch prompted Greene County schools and the University of West Alabama to close early and cancel classes for the day. Visit MyFoxClosings.com to see the latest school closings.
