PICKENS COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- A 73-year-old man was killed in a wreck in Pickens County early this morning after his truck hit a horse in the road.

William Grady Stanford, of Vernon, died in the single-vehicle crash. State troopers say his 1996 International truck struck a horse on Alabama 17, ran off the road and overturned.

Troopers say Stanford was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck.

The wreck happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. two miles north of Aliceville at the 191.8 mile marker. The horse was also killed in the wreck.
