Neighbors react to Tuscaloosa murder

Accused killer Tracey Grissom bonded out of Tuscaloosa County Jail Tuesday. That's a few hours after she allegedly gunned down her ex-husband Hunter Grissom.

She wasn't at home today. Court documents list her home in the 2000 block of Oak Village Road in Akron. That's a small town in Hale County.

We traveled there today. Neighbors recall seeing her, two children and another man in a home there for the past three months, fixing up the place. Folks there like Billy Campbell and Hayward Martin recognized her from arrest photos. But they say they can't judge her without knowing her personally.

Bo Bikes Bama holds online silent auction

Bo Bikes Bama holds online silent auction

Bo Jackson's fundraising efforts for tornado relief didn't end when he crossed the finish line of a 300 mile charity ride in Tuscaloosa. An online silent auction that continues through 9 p.m. is raising more money for the Alabama Governor's Emergency Relief Fund.

Bo Jackson's five-day charity ride took him from north Alabama at Lake Guntersville State Park through other tornado-ravaged areas of the state, including Cullman, Jasper and Bessemer before ending in Tuscaloosa.

The Bo Bikes Bama campaign had a goal of raising $1 million and is currently more than halfway to that mark with $503,813. The online silent auction offers all five of Bo's custom-made TREK bikes, signed sports memorabilia, vacation packages, artwork and more. So far, the highest bid is around $800 for a Bo Bikes Bama jersey signed and worn by Lance Armstrong.

Church arsonist asks for reduced sentence

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- A hearing took place today for one of the three men who set fire to several central Alabama churches in 2006.

Russell Lee Debusk, Jr. pleaded guilty to helping two fellow Birmingham college students burn nine churches in Sumter, Bibb, Pickens and Greene County in February 2006. He finished his federal sentence and is now scheduled to serve two years in an Alabama prison.

Debusk's attorney asked a judge to reduce his state sentence, arguing their client is a changed man since serving his time in prison. His lawyer Brett Bloomston says Debusk has been a model prisoner, from earning college credit to helping other inmates further their education too.

"He wants to rejoin his life and get back to his community and more importantly, to pay the churches back with restitution and service," Bloomston said.

Members of the five burned churches wrote letters to Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins asking him to release Debusk early.
